In the third quarter of 2023, the top five food and drink apps on the Android platform in Nigeria showed varied performance trends. Here’s a closer look at how each app fared during this period, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Chowdeck | Food Delivery saw notable fluctuations in its weekly downloads. Starting from 924 downloads in late June, the app experienced a significant spike, peaking at 22.5K downloads in the week of August 21. This was followed by a decline to around 7.7K downloads by the end of September. The app's weekly active users mirrored this trend, increasing from 6.7K in late June to a high of 37.9K in the week of August 21, before settling at 28.4K by the end of the quarter.

Jumia Food: Food Delivery maintained a more consistent performance. Weekly downloads ranged from 1.7K to 13.3K, with a noticeable peak in mid-September. Active users showed a steady increase, growing from 66.9K in late June to 98.5K by the end of September, indicating strong user engagement.

Daily Recipes Cook Book exhibited a gradual upward trend in weekly downloads, starting at 1.1K in late June and reaching 3.3K by the end of September. Similarly, active users increased from 826 to 2.4K over the same period, reflecting growing interest and engagement with the app.

Cake recipes experienced varying download numbers, beginning with 1.7K in late June, dipping to a low of 111 in mid-July, and then rising to 2.1K by the end of September. Active users followed a similar pattern, with numbers fluctuating between 343 and 1.6K throughout the quarter.

MANO food & products delivery showed a decline in weekly downloads, starting at 6.3K in late June and dropping to around 652 by the end of September. Despite this, the app's active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 7.2K and 12.6K during the quarter.
